Johnson Elementary School Named an Exemplary School by ISBE La Escuela Primaria Johnson Nombrada Escuela Ejemplar por la ISBE

For the second year in a row, the Illinois State Board of Education(ISBE) has named Johnson Elementary School an Exemplary School!  Johnson’s overall performance was at 92.62% which is in the top 3% of all schools in Illinois in 2024! It’s not easy to accomplish and yet Johnson Elementary School continues to raise the bar each year. Congratulations to Principal Ines Sem and all of the building leaders, teachers and staff for working together to make Johnson Elementary School an Exemplary School and a leader in education.

“I am incredibly proud that Johnson Elementary School has once again been recognized as Exemplary. This achievement is a demonstration of the hard work and dedication of our staff and students,” shared  Principal Ines Sem. “At Johnson, we foster an environment where every student believes in their ability to succeed, and we strive to help them reach their full potential. I am excited to see what the future holds for our school community.”

C.I. Johnson Elementary School serves 259 students in grades 3rd through 5th and was named after Clifford I. Johnson, who was a pharmacist and former school board member.  There are a variety of classrooms including general education, ESL, Dual Language, and Magnet which also has instruction in “Project Lead the Way”.  Johnson is also very proud to offer students a STEAM Lab, with allows students to engage in creative thinking, math, engineering, science, and technology tasks. 

¡Por segundo año consecutivo, la Junta de Educación del Estado de Illinois(ISBE) ha nombrado a la Escuela Primaria Johnson una Escuela Ejemplar! El rendimiento general de 2024 de Johnson fue del 92,62%, ¡lo que se encuentra entre el 3% superior de todas las escuelas de Illinois! No es fácil de lograr y, sin embargo, ¡la Escuela Primaria Johnson continúa elevando el listón cada año! Felicitaciones a la directora Ines Sem y a todos los líderes del edificio, maestros y personal por trabajar juntos para hacer de la Escuela Primaria Johnson una escuela ejemplar y líder en educación.

“Estoy increíblemente orgullosa de que la Escuela Primaria Johnson haya sido reconocida una vez más como Ejemplar. Este logro es una demostración del arduo trabajo y la dedicación de nuestro personal y estudiantes”, compartió la directora Inés Sem. “En Johnson, fomentamos un ambiente donde cada estudiante cree en su capacidad para tener éxito y nos esforzamos por ayudarlos a alcanzar su máximo potencial. Estoy emocionada de ver lo que le depara el futuro a nuestra comunidad escolar”.

La escuela primaria C.I. Johnson atiende a 259 estudiantes de tercer a quinto grado y lleva el nombre de Clifford I. Johnson, quien era farmacéutico y ex miembro de la junta escolar. Hay una variedad de aulas que incluyen educación general, ESL, lenguaje dual y Magnet, que también ofrecen instrucción en “Project Lead the Way”.  Johnson también está muy orgulloso de ofrecer a los estudiantes un laboratorio STEAM, que les permite participar en tareas de pensamiento creativo, matemáticas, ingeniería, ciencia y tecnología.
